Using public land, Self Help Hunger Program has been offering free food, free clothing, and free access to services for over 14 years. Based on free labor, dedication and endless love for humankind, Self Help Hunger Program stands as a testimony to the fact that when communities are left to care for themselves they can truly thrive.

4. We want decent housing, fit for the shelter of human beings.
Oakland is experiencing an unprecedented surge in homelessness. Despite the increasing number of houseless, the number of programs available to them is decreasing. We are taking a stand, by offering emergency housing while working with people in their transition towards indoors.
2. We want full employment for our people.
With the educational system having failed to prepare our people for the job market, we take it upon ourselves to train, certify and hire members of our community in deep need of a revenue.
